El Llegat ecologista del botànic olotí Oriol de Bolòs

Abstract

Aquesta ponència se centra en la faceta ecologista d’Oriol de Bolòs i Capdevila, i destaca la seva influència pionera en el conservacionisme a Catalunya, especialment a la Garrotxa. S’estructura en tres llegats: la formulació del seu ideari conservacionista des dels anys 70, el seu ferm posicionament científic en la defensa del patrimoni natural amenaçat (com en el cas de la Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa), i la seva contribució a la protecció legal d’aquest patrimoni mitjançant instruments concrets (catàlegs de protecció, creació del jardí botànic d’Olot, normes de protecció de l’Alta Garrotxa). Bolòs, malgrat la seva discreció, va utilitzar el seu prestigi acadèmic per impulsar la salvaguarda del medi ambient i va mostrar un compromís exemplar, cosa que va inspirar una nova generació de naturalistes i conservacionistes.

[EN] This presentation focuses on the ecological side of Oriol de Bolòs i Capdevila, and highlights his pioneering influence on conservationism in Catalonia, especially in La Garrotxa. It is structured to feature three legacies: the formulation of his conservationist ideology starting in the 1970s, his firm scientific stance in the defence of threatened natural heritage (as in the case of the La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone), and his contribution to the legal protection of this heritage through specific instruments (protection catalogues, creation of the Olot botanical garden, protective regulations for Alta Garrotxa). Bolòs, despite his limited public presence, used his academic prestige to promote environmental protection and showed exemplary commitment, which inspired a new generation of naturalists and conservationists.
