Els Herbaris de Bolòs i l’Institut Botànic de Barcelona

Abstract

En aquest article s’amplia la informació sobre els herbaris de Bolòs conservats a l’Institut Botànic de Barcelona (IBB), i es dona informació sobre la seva formació, el seu volum i el seu contingut, tant des del punt de vista florístic com històric. Es mostra també una petita caracterització dels plecs recol·lectats per Antoni i Oriol de Bolòs, i s’assenyalen alguns exemples de plecs tipus descrits per aquests autors. També es confirma la importància d’Oriol de Bolòs com a director de l’IBB, el qual va donar un fort impuls internacional a aquesta institució, que va arribar a ser un referent de la botànica arreu d’Europa. En resum, l’objectiu final és mostrar la importància de les figures d’Antoni i d’Oriol de Bolòs en la botànica del moment i en la història de l’IBB, i evidenciar el patrimoni i el llegat que ens han deixat.

[EN] This article expands the information on the Bolòs herbaria kept at the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB), and takes a floristic and historical perspective to provide information on their creation, volume and content. A small characteristic selection of the specimens collected by Antoni and Oriol de Bolòs is shown, and some examples of specimens like those described by these authors are presented as well. This paper also confirms the importance of Oriol de Bolòs as director of the IBB. He considerably bolstered the international profile of the institution, which became a benchmark in botany throughout Europe. In summary, the overarching objective is to show the importance of Antoni and Oriol de Bolòs in contemporary botany and in the history of the IBB, and to highlight the heritage and legacy they have left us.
